Sunday morning I woke up with a big ol smile on my face. For a change I knew exactly where I was and who was next to me.
Lex and I headed out to Lost Lake after having dinner with her family and her grandpa. We were celebrating his 100 and 1st birthday! What an amazing man… We pulled into lucky camp spot C-3 around 9:30. After hanging out for a bit we went down to the lake to shoot the stars.
Sunday morning we were up with the sun to see the first light of day hit the east face of Mt Hood. It was early so we went back to sleep in the truck for another 4 hours or so. When we woke up morning light was pouring through the boughs of the old growth doug firs we camped under. Waking up there with her was the most amazing thing. Coffee, oatmeal, cinnamon rolls and bananas for breakfast. We spent the rest of the day hanging around the lake with my family and got some ice cream in Hood River on the way home. Good day!
