The mountains called, so we went! Graham has a newfound stoke for photography that has got me excited about it all over again. Yesterday we went up into the Mt Hood National Wilderness despite the weather. The moment we arrived, the snow began to fall and the wind started to blow. We hiked around Lost Lake and up Huckleberry Trail to the top of the ridge where we hopped on the PCT for just a little bit. On a clear day there are great views of Hood and Bull Run if you can find a clearing. But with the snow dumping on us and the wind whipping in our faces, there wasn’t a whole lot to see. We both agreed though, that there is an ironic pleasure in enduring the elements and being put out of your comfort zone. In the end all we wanted was solitude and some snowy mts. That’s just what we got.
On the way home we stopped in Hood River for espresso, beers and scooby snacks.
